Semester I
Core 1 – Methodology and Perspectives of Social Science with special reference to Economics (EC2B01U)
 
Course Objectives
1.    The students get clear perspectives about social sciences and the subject matter of Economics.
2.    The students gather fundamental knowledge and information about theoretical foundations social sciences especially Economics.
Semester II
Core 2 – Development and Environmental Economics (EC2B02U)

Course Objectives
1.    To enable the students to understand the theories and strategies of growth and development
2.    To impart knowledge about the issues relating to sustainable development, environmental protection and pollution control measures.
                                            Semester III
Core 3 – Principles of Microeconomics (EC3B03U)

Course Objectives
1.    The student becomes able to analyze individual rationality in situations of scarcity and choice.
2.       The student becomes capable of finding settlement of optimization problems.
Core 4 – Modern Banking (EC3B04U)
No. of Contact hours – 72
Course Objectives
1.    The student understands and become familiar with basic terms and concepts used in banking practices.
2.    The student becomes able to perform online and internet banking.
3.    The student is able to take right saving/ investment decisions in the changing interest rate scenario.

1.    The student learns about budgetary practices in the country.
2.    The student can assess the impact of various budgetary practices on the activities of the economy and welfare of the citizens.

Core 7 – Quantitative Techniques for Economic Analysis (EC5B07U)

1.    The student becomes capable of designing an elementary research project.
2.    The student becomes able to make quantitative assessment and analysis of economic variables.
3.    The students are able to organize an economic survey.
 
Core 8 – Principles of Macroeconomics (EC5B08U)

Course Objectives
1.      Students understand about the functioning of the M\macro economy under different assumptions.
2.      Students are able to compute national income from a hypothetical situation
 
Core 9 – Indian Economy (EC5B09U)

Course Objectives
1.    The students become aware ofthe historical and theoretical perspectives ofthe development of Indian Economy.
2.    The students become aware of various challenges of the Indian Economy.
 
Core 10 – Economics of Financial Markets (EC5B10U)

1.    Students are aware of the theoretical aspects of financial markets.
2.    Students are able to notice stock market changes in connection with various other variables.

1.      Students understand about the functioning of the M\macro economy under different assumptions.
2.      Students are able to estimate equilibrium level of income and other related variables from hypothetical situations.

1.    Students are able to analyse current economic scenario in India.
2.    Students understand the initiatives of the government in addressing its challenges.  
Core 15 – International Economics (EC6B15U)

.Students understand fundamental theoretical aspects of international trade.
1.    Students are able to analyse changing international situations and assess trade prospects of the nation.
Elective 1 – Econometric Methods 
Course Objectives
1.      Students understand the basics of building economic model on various theories.
2.      Students can interpret the parameters of linear regression model which is applicable under various economic situations.

Open Course – Fundamentals of Economics (EC5D02U)

Course Objectives
1.    This course is designed to make the undergraduate students of other disciplines aware of the basic ideas and concepts in Economics.
2.    Students from other disciplines are able to speak of various economic ideas and understand its implications in real life situations.
